Club News and Updates
President's Report
On Monday night we welcomed Enzo Cecere, CEO of Willow House Community Foodbank,
along with two of his Directors, Melissa Booth and Gemma Hodge. Willow House, operating
from the Moe Library Community Kitchen, is a notforprofit organisation providing vital
support to individuals and families through food relief and mental health assistance.
All food distributed through the program is generously donated by our local Aldi Store and
Coles Supermarket. The organisation is staffed by six fulltime team members and supported
by fifteen dedicated volunteers, who prepare relief bags filled with fresh fruit, vegetables,
and essential groceries.
These relief bags play an important role in helping families manage the pressures of the
rising cost of living, offering practical support and dignity during challenging times.
On Friday, our Club joined with the Rotary Club of Morwell to assist at the Blue Light Disco
held at the Moe Town Hall for students from Baringa School and the Traralgon Special
Development School. The event was coordinated by the Proactive Policing Unit.
Around forty students attended and enjoyed a wonderful evening of dancing and music.
Several students even received trophies for their enthusiasm on the dance floor.
The police officers also joined in, dancing alongside the students and helping create a fun
and memorable night.
A sincere thank you to Alan Bishop, Maureen Bishop and Helen Morrison for their help and
support on the night.

A Trip Down Memory Lane
From the archives .............the 2007 to 2010
2007-08
One of the major projects this year was the building of a second Memorial Wall in the Botanic Gardens to honour Rotarians who have been called to higher service and who have made a significant contribution to the Rotary Club of Moe but who were not active members at the time of their passing.
The Club took over the local “Work for the dole” project and along with other work, a project to be undertaken to revitalise the donated refrigerated trailer.
2008-09
Commencement of project to install lighting along the path in the Botanic Gardens.
Rejuvenation of the Club’s BBQ trailer.
30 Laminated placards with the Rotary Emblem and the words “Do it Once – Do it Well” “Build a Better Australia” were distributed to factory sites.
In February 2009 the Club celebrated 50years of Youth Exchange with a special Club presentation.
2009-10
The Club’s dinner meetings moved to the Moe RSL and the new Club web-site was developed.
The Club provided further support for the Bhunutan primary school in Bali with school books for 250 students and assisted in the provision of compulsory school uniforms.
Lights were installed in the Rotary Shed.
Lighting to the front section of the Botanic Gardens was completed and the refrigerated trailer and BBQ trailer refurbishment was completed.
