Presidents for 2025-2026
Len Cairns and Alan Bishop
The Rotary Club of Moe is pleased to announce a shared presidency for the 2025–2026 Rotary year.
Len Cairns will serve as President from July to December 2025, with Alan Bishop assuming the role from January to June 2026.
Together, Presidents Len and Co President Alan are united in their commitment to the Rotary International theme, “Unite for Good.”

This week we have a great meeting scheduled. Our four visitors from Takasago City in Japan
(Latrobe City's Japanese Sister City) will be visiting our regular club meeting at the Moe
Hotel. This has been specially planned as a follow-up to our club 2018 visit to the Rotary
Club of Takasago Seisho for their 40th Anniversary.

Our visitors are:

Tokura Tatsuyoshi (Mr)  Mayor of Takasago City (Formerly President of the Rotary Club of
Takasago Seisho when our 2018 group visited).
Nishinaka Norifumi (Mr), Vice President of Takasago International Association (TAI).
Yoshioka Kohei (Mr), Officer of Culture and Sports Division, Takasago City.
Kataoka Sawako (Ms), Takasago International Association (She speaks English).
Please Note Special Arrangements for this night.
Members and Guests Please arrive at 6pm, buy your own drinks at the Hotel bar and
come to our meeting room for a "stand-up" socialising first half-hour with our guests
over drinks. (It is suggested we dress up a bit in our more formal Rotary or other gear
with appropriate PHF and other badges and names).

Payment of the evening cost ($35 per head) can be made directly to Administration
Account or to the Treasurer on the night.

There will be 4 tables of 8 people, with places allocated to ensure we spread the guests
and arrange the protocols for the speakers etc. You will be informed of the seating and
your table allocation on arrival.
This arrangement should make it work better. We will be having some speeches and a
slide show.

There will not be a bar within the room. Our back of the room will have a number of
our promotional banners indicating our work and we will have a wheelchair for kids on
display.

This should be a great night.
I look forward to welcoming all.

BUSY TIME IN SEPTEMBER FOR BBQs

September is shaping up to be a busy month for BBQs, with several invitations received for our Club to assist with catering. Your help would be greatly appreciated at the following events:
Sunday 7th September
A bbq at Old Gippstown on Sunday 7th September for Father’s Day.
Thursday 11th September
Energy Australia has once again invited us to cook egg and bacon sandwiches for their RU OK? Day breakfast.
This will require 4 volunteers and a 5 am start!!!!  Alan and Ross have volunteered – so another 2 ‘early risers’required!
Saturday 13th September
We are also being considered to assist at the Ellinbank Football League Grand Final being held at the Trafalgar Football Club on Saturday 13th September.  This would be an approx. start of 9 am through to around 4pm.

We may look at arranging volunteer shifts for this event. At this stage the Bishops will be on duty for the full day – so will be requiring another 1 or 2 volunteers for each 2 hr shift.
Final details are still being confirmed, and I’ll keep you updated over the next couple of weeks.
