Presidents for 2025-2026
Len Cairns and Alan Bishop
The Rotary Club of Moe is pleased to announce a shared presidency for the 2025–2026 Rotary year.
Len Cairns will serve as President from July to December 2025, with Alan Bishop assuming the role from January to June 2026.
Together, Presidents Len and Co President Alan are united in their commitment to the Rotary International theme, “Unite for Good.”

On Monday 4th we welcomed the Takasago Delegation to sister city Latrobe and to our
Rotary Club of Moe. We had a very good attendance which included a number of friends or
Rotary as well as members. All had a great night.

Delegation leader Tokura Tatsuyoshi, Mayor of Takasago City (Formerly President of the
Rotary Club of Takasago Seisho when our 2018 group visited), spoke to the club and
expressed his delight in visiting us once again. His team of three colleagues were also
welcomed by our club in a special dinner meeting which was a great celebration of the
International element of Rotary. Greetings were read out from our Past President Maureen
Bishop and 2025 Co-President Alan Bishop who are currently overseas. Past President Peter
Kingsbury added his tribute to the founding of the Takasago-Latrobe sister City agreement
and to the close links with the Rotary Club of Moe. Reminders of the 2018 visit to Takasago
City by the Moe group were shared by many of the group who re-acquainted themselves with
Tokura San.

Thanks to Diane Wilkinson and Robin Noakes for their hard work to make the night such an
event to remember.

This week, Monday August 11 we will be enjoying fellowship and a General knowledge
Quiz, not a Hard Quiz, but rather a fun one. There will be a prize!

August 18th is the Board meeting at Len Cairns home.

BUSY TIME IN SEPTEMBER FOR BBQs

September is shaping up to be a busy month for BBQs, with several invitations received for our Club to assist with catering. Your help would be greatly appreciated at the following events:
Sunday 7th September
A bbq at Old Gippstown on Sunday 7th September for Father’s Day.
Thursday 11th September
Energy Australia has once again invited us to cook egg and bacon sandwiches for their RU OK? Day breakfast.
This will require 4 volunteers and a 5 am start!!!!  Alan and Ross have volunteered – so another 2 ‘early risers’required!
Saturday 13th September
We are also being considered to assist at the Ellinbank Football League Grand Final being held at the Trafalgar Football Club on Saturday 13th September.  This would be an approx. start of 9 am through to around 4pm.

We may look at arranging volunteer shifts for this event. At this stage the Bishops will be on duty for the full day – so will be requiring another 1 or 2 volunteers for each 2 hr shift.
Final details are still being confirmed, and I’ll keep you updated over the next couple of weeks.
